Haha Hawke's Bay Merlot 2014 13.5%
Very dark purple hues, opaque in appearance.
Aromas of dark berry and roasted plum with suggestions of fruit cake and spice. There's plenty of toasty barrel aromas too with vanilla and brown spice suggestions. On the palate - a tense and dry wine with lots of youthful textures at play: medium+ acidity and tannins and a core of plum and black berry fruit flavors as well as savory oak spices. Overall a very nice wine that simply requires time in decanter or preferably a cellar for around 18 months.
