Esk Valley Syrah 2013 Hawke's Bay
An enticing, rich and fruity bouquet with aromas and flavours of ripe black and red fruits - black berry, black currant, blueberry and plum; plenty of chalky tannins acidity point to a wine still finding its way to balance - indicative of many 2013 Syrah. That said there is lots of potential with a solid core of fruit, sweet pepper lead spices, new oak and lengthy finish. Expertly crafted example.
