Pegasus Bay Merlot Cabernet 2013 Waipara Valley
Toasty oak bouquet and packed with dark berry and plum aromas, some black cherry and sweet tobacco leaf; violets, earth, sweet oak and slightly nutty. On the palate - dry, firm, focused flavours of blackberry and roasted vanilla, toasty oak and brown spices; medium+ tannins and acidity, already balanced but with plenty of youthful energy; violets a strong feature and even a hint of five spice. A lovely wine.
