Grava Wines

Grava Wines Riesling 2015 Martinborough
Very floral and fragrant with white blossoms then pink grapefruit, lemon and crisp red apple aromas; a distinctive stony mineral undertone captures my attention. On the palate - crisp, just-dry, plenty of texture and palate appeal; flavours of citrus, pith, blossoms and mineral all competing for attention, a very memorable example with a lengthy finiah.

Grava Pinot Noir 2015 Martinborough
Fragrant bouquet with light red flowers of rose then red cherry, a little plum note and dried raspberry tones; moderate oak and loads of pinosity. On the palate - fresh, young, vibrant, dry, plenty of pinot flavours with red cherry and red apple skin moments, fine to moderate tannins and plenty of acidity; a definitive dried herb layer showing off some mineral tones as well; a balanced and well made wine - still very young and requires a lot more integration time. Decant and serve with food through 2017 - or cellar and enjoy from 2018 through 2024.
