Vineyards Syrah 2015 Hawkes Bay
Immediate bold and
expressive, very fruit centric, youthful. Ripe red currants, fresh raspberry,
wild raspberry and red cherry – all laced with fresh pepper. On the palate –
juicy, fleshy, ripe red berry fruit flavours, warming alcohol, plenty of
contrasting acidity and even tempered silky tannins. Balanced, bright, fruity
and lengthy. Just enough oak. Well made. Drink now and through 2024.

Vineyards ‘Basket Press’ Syrah 2015 Hawkes Bay
Immediately expressive
bouquet – concentrated, fruity, spicy and inviting. Aromas and flavours of red
and blue fruits with dark raspberry and black current, black cherry and crushed
rose; some stony mineral tones. A core of fruit, fine to moderate chalky
tannins and back bone of acidity and lengthy finish; balanced use of oak, plenty
of complexity and length. Drink now and through 2026.
